Our verdict

adidas's women's chest guard: a removable rigid PE (polyethylene) shell with a stretch-polyester outer. It comes from a brand WKF lists for ladies' chest protectors, and it is the only women's chest protection in this category.

adidas describes its Lady Chest Guard as a WKF-approved women's chest guard. It has a removable rigid PE (polyethylene) shell, contoured to the body, with a breathable stretch-polyester outer, and is made entirely of polyester. adidas lists XS to XL.

UK retailer Budo Online sells it as article 666.14. The retailer describes a removable breast protector inserted through a front panel in a non-see-through polyester vest, states CE marking and sizes it by under-bust measurement (XS 25-28in to XL 41-43in).

WKF's approved list names adidas for ladies' chest protectors, and image files named 666.14 appear on both WKF's adidas entry and adidas's product page. But WKF does not name the model, so the approval is adidas's claim: check for the WKF logo. Under WKF rules, women in kumite (competition sparring) use a chest and body protector or an integrated chest and body protector (WKF Kumite Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.7(c)). So under those rules, this chest guard is paired with a body protector.

Best suited to

Women preparing for kumite under WKF rules who want chest protection from a WKF-listed brand, sized by under-bust measurement, to wear with a body protector.

Consider skipping if

You're looking for a body protector on its own: see the adidas Karate Chest Guard or the Blitz Intercept. You want the colour or the vest construction confirmed by the maker.

Pros

  • A removable rigid PE shell with a stretch-polyester outer, per adidas
  • adidas is on WKF's approved list for ladies' chest protectors, and 666.14 image files tie WKF's entry and adidas's page to this model
  • Under-bust sizing published by the UK retailer

Cons

  • WKF names the brand, not the model - check for the WKF logo
  • Chest protection only: WKF rules pair it with a body protector
  • The vest construction and CE marking are the retailer's description

Why we rated it this way

Protection (3): adidas states a removable rigid PE shell, and the CE marking is the retailer's statement. WKF's specification for the female chest protectors it approves describes a polyurethane (PU) inner part, while adidas names PE. Both are reported here without settling which is right. Protection is rated on the published description, never on an injury-prevention claim.

Comfort (3): a stretch-polyester outer and a contoured shell are stated, and the retailer publishes under-bust sizing.

Durability (3): no independent durability evidence.

Value (3): a mid-range price for chest protection only. Under WKF rules it is worn with a body protector, which is a second purchase.
