Sanda bouts are fought in boxing-style gloves, and the weight depends on the rules the event uses. BCCMA's Light Sanda (Qingda) rules list BCCMA-approved boxing gloves as compulsory. The listed weights are 8oz (230g) for competitors under 65kg and 10oz (280g) for 65kg and over, with 8oz in every women's category (BCCMA Light Sanda rules 2024, Rule 11.1).
Every glove listed here is offered in both 8oz and 10oz. We found no published list of BCCMA-approved gloves, so none of them is presented as approved for Light Sanda. Organisers may also supply some or all of the equipment (Rule 11), so check the event's rules before you buy for a bout.
Under IWUF's Sanda rules, gloves are part of the IWUF-approved protective gear, in red or blue (IWUF Sanda rules 2024, Articles 7.1 and 7.3). They weigh from 180g to 330g, depending on the division and weight category (Article 7.4). For club sparring, ask which weight your club uses.
