Our verdict
The lowest-cost way into MMA gloves in this category: a 7oz open-palm glove sold directly by RDX's UK store. It is best treated as a bag, pad and light-sparring glove rather than a dedicated sparring pair.
RDX sells the F6 KARA as a 7oz MMA sparring glove with a hook-and-loop wrist strap and an open-palm design. RDX calls its outer material "Maya Hide", its own brand term. The name does not show whether the material is genuine or synthetic leather, so we record it as not confirmed.
At 7oz it sits at the lighter end of the sparring range in Budo Online's MMA glove buying guide. A customer review on RDX's own product page describes the padding as hard. RDX's product page also calls it a "shooter glove" and refers to "D-Cut gloves", wording that appears to belong to other models. Because of that, we do not rely on the page's finer technical claims.
Beginners who want an inexpensive first pair of MMA gloves for bag work, pad work and drilling, bought directly from RDX in the UK.
You are buying mainly for regular sparring: a more heavily padded sparring glove, such as the Venum Challenger 3.0, would suit you better. You want a confirmed genuine-leather outer.
Pros
- The lowest-priced glove in this category, sold directly by RDX's UK store
- A stated 7oz weight and a hook-and-loop wrist strap
- Two size bands in most colourways, plus XS/S and M/L in the pink colourway
Cons
- The outer is a proprietary "Maya Hide" material - not confirmed as genuine or synthetic leather
- A customer review on RDX's own page describes the padding as hard, so it is not positioned here for regular sparring
- Some of RDX's product copy appears to belong to another model, so its finer technical claims are not relied on
Why we rated it this way
Protection (3): a 7oz open-palm glove, but at the light end of the sparring range and with a customer report of hard padding, so it is not rated higher.
Comfort (3): only the open palm and hook-and-loop strap are confirmed - no lining or fit-system detail to rate higher.
Durability (3): no independent durability evidence, and the outer material is not confirmed.
Value (4): the lowest price in this category for a glove with a stated weight, a hook-and-loop closure and a UK manufacturer-direct route - rated on that basis, not on any performance claim.
Sources
- Manufacturer — RDX's own UK product page - 7oz in the product name, Quick-EZ hook-and-loop strap, open-palm design, "Maya Hide" outer naming, sizes by colourway, and the on-page customer review describing the padding as hard.
- Other source — UK specialist retailer's MMA glove buying guide: 4oz competition-style gloves are not for regular sparring; 6-7oz hybrids suit bag work, pads and light sparring; 7-8oz gloves are its recommended choice for regular contact training.
