Suitable for

  • Boxing
  • Kickboxing

A slip-on gel wrap: a quicker alternative to traditional hand wraps for training, not their equivalent. Hayabusa lists it as best for boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai. It is not the cotton strip WAKO describes for competition (WAKO Rules 2022, Art. 2.3.1.5), so it is not for WAKO bouts.

Research-based editorial assessment

Our verdict

A slip-on quick wrap that goes on fast, for bag work, mitts and light technical sessions. It is a convenience option, not a full substitute for a properly wound traditional wrap.

Hayabusa's own UK product page confirms a slip-on glove (100% polyester) with an integrated 36in wrap component (50% cotton/50% nylon), which Hayabusa calls "Mexican style perfect stretch", and PU foam plus PVC gel knuckle padding. Fight Equipment UK, a UK specialist retailer, confirms these details.

An independent review (Garage Gym Reviews, which tested this exact product) found that gel or quick wraps like this one give noticeably less wrist stabilisation than a traditional wrap. Its tester found gel wraps "felt so good" for speed bag and shadow boxing, while traditional wraps "completely stabilized the wrist" for heavier work. This finding is the independent reviewer's, not our own inference.

Best suited to

Boxers who want wraps that go on fast, without learning to wind a traditional wrap, for bag work, mitts and cardio-style sessions.

Consider skipping if

You want maximum wrist support for heavy bag work or sparring. An independent review found this kind of wrap gives noticeably less wrist support than a properly wound traditional wrap, so we don't list it for sparring.

Pros

  • Quick to put on, with no wrapping technique to learn
  • A hybrid build, per Hayabusa: a 100% polyester glove, a 50/50 cotton-nylon wrap and PU foam plus PVC gel padding
  • An independent review found it comfortable for speed bag and shadow boxing

Cons

  • An independent review found noticeably less wrist stabilisation than a traditional wrap, so we don't list it for sparring or heavy bag work
  • A slip-on glove with a built-in 36in wrap: not the equal of a full-length wrap wound by hand for maximum wrist stabilisation or heavier work

Why we rated it this way

Protection (3): The independent review found it good for light knuckle protection but noticeably less stabilising for the wrist than a traditional wrap. That keeps it at the normal level.

Comfort (4): the independent review specifically praised the feel for speed bag and shadow boxing, a genuine third-party finding, not manufacturer marketing.

Materials & Construction (3): Hayabusa states a 100% polyester glove with a 50% cotton, 50% nylon wrap: the normal build for slip-on quick wraps.

Value (3): A premium price for a quick wrap with foam and gel padding and a cotton-nylon wrist wrap, which is what quick wraps at this price normally offer.
