Our verdict
A budget club mitt from Blitz with an enclosed thumb and a wraparound hook-and-loop strap. It is UKCA and CE marked, comes in four colours and is sized by knuckle width.
Blitz designs the Club Elite for karate sparring and competition. It is an enclosed-thumb mitt in "Nama Hide" leather, though Blitz does not say whether that is genuine or synthetic. It has a wraparound hook-and-loop strap and UKCA and CE marking.
It comes in black, blue, red and white, and in X-Small to X-Large by knuckle width (7.2cm to 9.8cm). Blitz does not describe the padding.
Blitz is not on WKF's approved list for karate mitts. Under WKF rules, mitts in kumite (competition sparring) must be WKF Approved (WKF Kumite Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.7(a)), so Blitz's competition wording does not extend to WKF events. We present it here as a mitt for training and club sparring.
Beginners and club karateka who want an inexpensive enclosed-thumb mitt for class sparring, sized from a published knuckle-width chart.
You compete under WKF rules: see the adidas 661.23 mitts. You want the padding described before you buy.
Pros
- Enclosed thumb and a wraparound hook-and-loop strap, per Blitz
- Knuckle-width size bands published for all five sizes
- UKCA and CE marked, in black, blue, red and white
Cons
- Blitz is not on WKF's approved list for karate mitts
- Padding not described
- "Nama Hide" is not confirmed as genuine or synthetic leather
Why we rated it this way
Protection (3): the enclosed thumb and UKCA and CE marking are stated by Blitz, but the padding is not described - rated on the published description, never on an injury-prevention claim.
Comfort (3): a wraparound strap and published knuckle-width bands help the fit; Blitz describes no finger loops or palm detail.
Durability (3): "Nama Hide" is Blitz's material name, not confirmed as leather, and there is no independent durability evidence.
Value (3): a budget price, between the two other mitts here, for a mitt with a published size chart, stated certification and four colours.
