Our verdict
The lowest-cost mitt here: Bytomic's own PU (polyurethane) point-fighting mitt with finger loops, thumb protection and hook-and-loop fastening, in red/white or blue/white. Bytomic describes no padding and states no certification.
Bytomic says its Red Label mitt is made from PU (polyurethane) for WKF point fighting, with a pro-concave shape, finger loops, thumb protection and hook-and-loop fastening. It comes in XS, S/M and L/XL. The red/white and blue/white versions are separate listings, and Bytomic says the Red Label range is designed in the UK. Bytomic publishes no size guide, padding description or certification for it.
"For WKF point fighting" describes the style the mitt is made for, not an approval. Bytomic is not on WKF's approved list for karate mitts. Under WKF rules, mitts in kumite (competition sparring) must be WKF Approved (WKF Kumite Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.7(a)).
Beginners and club members who want the lowest-cost mitt with thumb protection for class sparring, in either corner colour (red or blue).
You compete under WKF rules: see the adidas 661.23 mitts. You want a published size chart, padding description or certification: see the Blitz Club Elite.
Pros
- The lowest price in this category, sold directly by Bytomic
- Finger loops, thumb protection and hook-and-loop fastening, per Bytomic
- Red/white and blue/white versions for both corner colours
Cons
- Bytomic is not on WKF's approved list; its "WKF point fighting" wording describes a style
- No padding description, size guide or certification published
- Three combined sizes only (XS, S/M, L/XL)
Why we rated it this way
Protection (2): Bytomic states thumb protection, but describes no padding and states no certification mark, where the other two mitts here have at least one. This is a lower score for missing evidence, not a finding that the mitt protects less. Protection is rated on the published description, never on an injury-prevention claim.
Comfort (3): finger loops and hook-and-loop fastening are confirmed, but there is no size guide.
Durability (3): a PU outer is stated, with no independent durability evidence.
Value (4): the lowest price here for a mitt with a stated material, thumb protection and closure, sold manufacturer-direct.
