Our verdict
The lowest-cost option here: a slip-on elasticated sleeve covering the shin and instep (the top of the foot), with a cushioned outer and a towelling lining. Blitz pitches it as practical, lightweight protection for regular training.
Blitz describes the Elastic Shin & Instep Pads as an elasticated slip-on guard for martial-arts training and sparring, suitable for all styles and levels. They have a cushioned padded outer and a soft towelling inner lining, and cover the shin and instep. Blitz calls them practical, lightweight protection for regular training and describes no straps or removable foot.
They are sold in pairs, UKCA and CE marked, in black or white, X-Small to X-Large. Blitz's guide gives shin lengths for X-Small to Large, measured from the bottom of the knee to the top of the ankle.
Under WKF rules, shin pads and foot protection in kumite (competition sparring) are WKF Approved and red or blue (WKF Kumite Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.7(d) and (e)). These are black or white, and Blitz is not on WKF's approved list, so they are a training guard.
Beginners who want a light, inexpensive slip-on guard for training and club sparring, in karate or another martial art.
You want a strapped guard with a removable foot: see the Bytomic Red Label or Blitz Elite. You compete under WKF rules: see the adidas 661.35.
Pros
- The lowest price in this category, sold as a pair
- A slip-on sleeve with a towelling lining, per Blitz
- UKCA and CE marked, with shin lengths published
Cons
- Black or white only - not the red or blue WKF requires
- Blitz calls it lightweight protection and describes the padding only as a cushioned outer
- X-Large is sold without a size-guide measurement
Why we rated it this way
Approval: Blitz is not among the brands WKF lists for shin pads and foot protectors.
Protection (2): Blitz itself positions it as lightweight protection and describes only a cushioned padded outer - rated on the published description, never on an injury-prevention claim.
Comfort (3): a towelling lining and a slip-on design are confirmed; a sleeve has to be the right size to stay in place, and shin lengths are published for four of the five sizes.
Durability (3): no outer material is named and there is no independent durability evidence.
Value (4): the lowest price here, sold as a pair and UKCA and CE marked.
