Mouthguards for Kung Fu

A gum shield is compulsory in BCCMA Light Sanda (BCCMA Light Sanda rules 2024, Rule 11.1). You always bring your own, even when the organiser supplies the rest of the equipment (Rule 11). Under IWUF's Sanda rules, competitors also provide their own gum guard (IWUF Sanda rules 2024, Article 7.3).

Every guard listed here is fitted at home. Three are boil-and-bite guards, softened in hot water and bitten into shape. The remaining one is a self-fit guard, moulded with the maker's own impression tray. One of the boil-and-bite guards is a double guard, covering both upper and lower teeth. Follow each maker's fitting instructions.

If you wear braces, check the maker's guidance before you buy. At least one maker here states that its guard is not compatible with braces.
