Our verdict
Blitz's heavyweight 14oz brushed-cotton gi, which Blitz tailors for kata (forms). It has a Japanese cut, with shorter sleeves and trouser legs and a reduced lapel, and comes in white or black and in half sizes.
Blitz describes the Diamond as a premium heavyweight gi for advanced practitioners and instructors, tailored specifically for kata (forms). It is 14oz, 100% brushed cotton, in a traditional Japanese cut with shorter sleeves, shorter trouser legs and a reduced jacket lapel. It has tie-waist trousers and a woven Diamond label and comes with a drawstring bag. The belt is not included.
It comes in white or black, in half sizes from 3/160cm to 7/200cm against a published height chart. Blitz names no weave and makes no shrinkage statement.
Blitz is not on WKF's approved list for kata or kumite karategi (karate gis). Under WKF rules, kata athletes wear a white, WKF approved karategi (WKF Kata Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.1), so we present it as a training gi for kata practice. The black version would fall outside WKF's white rule in any case.
Experienced karateka and instructors who want a heavyweight cotton gi in a Japanese cut for kata training, in white or black.
