Our verdict

A traditional 12oz cotton canvas gi in a European cut, pre-shrunk and sold in half sizes. It is Blitz's middleweight gi for adults who train regularly, and it is sold without a belt.

Blitz describes the Zanshin as a traditional middleweight uniform for dedicated adult karateka (people who practise karate). It is 12oz, 100% woven cotton canvas, pre-shrunk to help it keep its size and fit after washing. The cut is a classic European one, with full-length sleeves and trousers and a traditional tie waist. It has a clean design for club badges and comes with a drawstring bag.

It comes in white only, in half sizes from 3/160cm to 7/200cm against a published height chart. The belt is not included, and Blitz does not say whether the jacket has ties.

Blitz is not on WKF's approved list for karategi (karate gis). Under WKF rules, athletes wear a WKF Approved karategi (WKF Kumite Competition Rules 2026, Art. 2.2.1), so we present it here as a training gi.

Best suited to

Adults training regularly who want a heavier cotton gi in a traditional European cut and can choose a half size from Blitz's height chart.

Consider skipping if

You compete under WKF rules: see the adidas K220KF. You're a beginner on a tight budget: see the Blitz Student. You want a belt included.

Why we rated it this way

Rated on the clothing criteria (Construction / Materials, Fit & Movement, Durability, Value); a gi gets no Protection score.

Construction / Materials (4): weight, fibre, canvas weave and pre-shrinking are all stated by Blitz.

Fit & Movement (3): a European cut with full-length sleeves and trousers and a tie waist, sold in half sizes against a height chart - a well-documented fit, but Blitz describes no movement feature beyond the cut.

Durability (4): rated on the documented 12oz cotton canvas, one of the two heavier fabrics stated in this category, not on Blitz's own "durable" wording or any testing.

Value (3): a premium price for a fully specified cotton gi, with no belt.
